Towson University, located in Towson, Maryland, is a public institution established in 1866. It lies at a suburban setting just north of the bustling city of Baltimore, providing a balance between a collegiate atmosphere and urban convenience. Architecturally, the campus features a blend of historic and modern buildings, with a considerable number of students residing in on-campus housing facilities. Academically, Towson is recognized for a range of programs including business, education, and health professions. The university holds a moderately selective admissions process. Although Towson fields a variety of NCAA Division I athletic teams, known as the Towson Tigers, it is particularly noted for its men's lacrosse team.
