St. Mary's University, located in San Antonio, Texas, is a private Catholic institution that provides a liberal arts education deeply rooted in the Marianist tradition. The university was established in 1852 and is the oldest Catholic university in the Southwest United States. The campus features a blend of historic and modern architecture set on 135 landscaped acres?an intimate atmosphere that is just a short drive from downtown San Antonio. St. Mary's offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and law programs, with business, law, and the humanities among the most popular majors. The Law School has garnered particular attention for its program excellence. St. Mary's has a moderately selective admissions process. On-campus living is an integral part of the collegiate experience here, with a variety of housing options available for students. While St. Mary's celebrates a strong athletic program, it is particularly known for its men's and women's basketball teams, competing as the Rattlers.
