The University of Texas at Austin, the flagship campus of the University of Texas System, occupies a 437-acre urban campus in the heart of Austin, Texas's capital city. Founded in 1883, the university combines historic limestone buildings with modern research facilities, situated just north of the Texas State Capitol.
