West Virginia State University (WVSU) is a public, historically black college located in Institute, West Virginia, in proximity to the state capital of Charleston. Established in 1891 as the West Virginia Colored Institute, it has evolved into a fully accessible, racially diverse, and multi-generational institution offering a variety of undergraduate degrees.
