West Texas A&M University (WTAMU), established in 1910 and located in Canyon, Texas, offers students a blend of historic and contemporary campus architecture rooted in its founding as a state normal school. Situated in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 15 miles south of Amarillo, its setting provides a semi-rural university atmosphere amid a close-knit community backdrop. The institution maintains a broad academic portfolio with noted emphasis on agriculture, business, education, and nursing programs.
