Angelo State University, located in San Angelo in west-central Texas, occupies a 268-acre campus approximately 250 miles from both Dallas and Austin. The institution, which began as a junior college in 1928 before joining the Texas Tech University System in 2007, features Spanish Colonial Revival architecture throughout its main campus. ASU offers undergraduate and graduate programs with particular strengths in nursing, agriculture, business, and education, while maintaining moderate admission requirements for prospective students. The campus includes multiple residential complexes for its student population, with most first-year students residing in traditional dormitories.
