The University of Dallas is a private Catholic institution located in Irving, Texas, situated in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Dallas. The 744-acre suburban campus features distinctive mid-century modern architecture and includes a satellite campus in Rome, Italy, where many students participate in a semester-long study abroad program. Founded in 1956 by the Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur, the university maintains a rigorous Core Curriculum based in the Western intellectual tradition, with particularly strong programs in business, theology, and classical studies.
