The University of Dallas, located in Irving, Texas, is a private Catholic institution established in 1956. Situated in the suburban area just northwest of downtown Dallas, the university offers a serene, campus environment spread across 744 acres, featuring a blend of modern and gothic architecture. This institution is recognized for its rigorous core curriculum and academic programs, with notable strength in the liberal arts, business, and the humanities. Academically, the university maintains a selective admissions process. On-campus living is provided through a variety of residential halls and apartment complexes, catering to both undergraduate and graduate student needs. Among its academic offerings, the University of Dallas is known for its Rome Program, in which students have the opportunity to study abroad at its Rome campus during their sophomore year. The university does not have a particular emphasis on athletics; however, its teams, known as the Crusaders, compete in the NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
