SUNY College at Cortland, located in the small city of Cortland in Central New York, is approximately 30 miles from Syracuse and Ithaca. Founded in 1868 as the Cortland Normal School, it has since evolved into a comprehensive college, offering a variety of bachelor's and master's degree programs. The campus, characterized by its red brick buildings and traditional collegiate architecture, spans 191 acres and facilitates on-campus living with several residence halls. Academically, Cortland is known for its strong programs in education, exercise science, and sport management. The institution maintains moderate selectivity in its admissions process.
