The 45-acre campus combines traditional stone buildings with modern academic facilities in a residential setting accessible by public transportation to Manhattan. The college maintains selective undergraduate admission standards and is organized into two main academic units: the School of Arts & Science and the LaPenta School of Business, with particularly strong programs in business administration, mass communication, and education. Iona's NCAA Division I athletic program competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, with the men's basketball team regularly participating in the NCAA Tournament.
