Adelphi University, founded in 1896, is a private institution located in Garden City, New York, approximately 23 miles east of New York City. The university's 75-acre main campus is characterized by a blend of historic buildings and modern facilities, providing a diverse architectural landscape. Adelphi offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs, with a particular emphasis on its School of Social Work and its Business program. The academics at Adelphi lean toward a more selective admissions process. On-campus housing is available to students, with a variety of living options from traditional residence halls to suites. While Adelphi does have an athletics program, it is not predominantly recognized for athletics over its academic programs.
