Baruch College, part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, is located in Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighborhood. The campus consists primarily of the Newman Vertical Campus, a 17-story building designed to accommodate an urban student population, along with the historic 23rd Street Building and the Information and Technology Building. Founded in 1847 as the Free Academy, Baruch College became an independent senior college within CUNY in 1968 and is known for its business programs through the Zicklin School of Business, along with strong offerings in public affairs and arts and sciences.
