Frostburg State University is located in the Appalachian highlands of western Maryland, approximately 140 miles from both Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Originally established in 1898 as a state normal school for teacher training, FSU evolved into a comprehensive public university offering more than 100 programs across its three colleges. The 260-acre campus features a mix of historic and modern buildings, with Georgian-style architecture predominant throughout the main campus.
