The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), based in San Antonio, Texas, is a private, Catholic university founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Known for its distinctive Spanish colonial architecture, UIW's campus blends historical design with modern facilities. Offering a range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, the university is notably home to the Rosenberg School of Optometry and the Feik School of Pharmacy. Known for a fairly liberal acceptance policy, UIW provides a diverse educational environment with a plethora of majors, with Business, Nursing, and Biology among the most pursued by the student body.
