Founded in 1898 as Decatur Baptist College before relocating to Dallas in 1965, DBU operates as a comprehensive university offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs with particular emphasis on business, education, and Christian ministry studies. The university maintains a selective admission process and requires students to complete chapel requirements and religious coursework as part of its Christian liberal arts curriculum.
