Coastal Carolina University, located in Conway, South Carolina, is a public institution established in 1954. Approximately 9 miles northwest of the resort area of Myrtle Beach, the university provides a serene, suburban campus backdrop that is characterized by a landscape infused with coastal flora and distinctive Lowcountry architecture. Coastal Carolina University offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable emphasis on marine science, business, and education. The university maintains a moderately selective admissions process. As for campus life, on-campus housing is available to students, including several residential communities that cater to specific academic and personal interests. Coastal Carolina's athletic teams, known as the Chanticleers, participate in the NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference and have garnered recognition in sports such as baseball and football.
