Student and Parent Reviews
If you are a student, former student, faculty member or parent, please help guide other prospective students by sharing your personal experiences at this college. What is it really like to go to Coastal Carolina University?
Current Student
There are many students from out of state, so the campus can be considered a "melting pot" of American subcultures. The outstanding faculty members will help you become successful if you want to put in the necessary work. However, the countless distractions on and off of campus make success something that you must work towards at this university. I would encourage pre-med or pre-dental students to consider other options. It is hard to graduate on time due to lack of course availability for highly desired courses (especially in 3rd and 4th years). To combat this, I highly recommend the CCU Honors Program (Honors College) because it allows students to register for class early, so you can get the classes you need. There is a lack of consistency between some faculty members while others (like mathematics or physics) are incredibly consistent. Parents, think long and hard before sending your kids here.
Alumnus
Coastal Carolina University gave my son Bradley Coletti a chance to attend this wonderful school in 1992. His marks and SAT were on the boarder line but they gave him an opportunity to prove himself. He is now a Commander in the US Navy. He has come a long way since graduation thanks to CCU. I thank you everyday. Now my Grandson Jake Coletti is applying this year and I am praying they give him a chance.
