Pitt Test Policy

Test Submission Requirements

The University of Pittsburgh is test-optional for first-year applicants through fall 2028, including students entering in fall 2027. SAT or ACT scores are not required. If you apply without scores, Pitt relies more heavily on your coursework, activities, and a personal statement or Common Application essay. If you send scores, Pitt uses your highest SAT superscore and highest ACT composite. The Medicine and Dental Medicine Guaranteed Admissions Programs still require SAT or ACT scores.
