The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) is located in Edmond, a suburban community situated 13 miles north of downtown Oklahoma City. Established in 1890 as the Territorial Normal School of Oklahoma, UCO occupies a 210-acre main campus characterized by a mix of historic and modern buildings, including the landmark Old North Tower, the territory's first higher education building. The university operates as a public institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs, with particular strengths in business, education, fine arts, and forensic science.
