Northeastern State University (NSU) is a public institution nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, roughly an hour's drive from Tulsa. Founded on the historic site of the Cherokee National Female Seminary in 1851, NSU is the oldest institution of higher learning in Oklahoma. The university's campus boasts a blend of modern and historic architecture, including Seminary Hall, a notable building from the original seminary, which remains a central landmark. NSU offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees with a noted emphasis on Education, Business, and Health Professions. While maintaining an inclusive admissions policy, NSU provides on-campus housing to foster a supportive educational environment.
