Located in western New York approximately 45 miles southwest of Buffalo, SUNY Fredonia occupies a 256-acre campus in the village of Fredonia. The public institution, established in 1826 as a teachers' college, features a mix of modern and historic buildings centered around a traditional collegiate quad. SUNY Fredonia maintains a strong focus in performing and visual arts, education, and business administration, with its School of Music being particularly well-established within the SUNY system. The campus houses most first-year students in traditional residence halls, while upperclassmen have access to suite-style living arrangements and townhouses.
