Rowan University, located in Glassboro, New Jersey, approximately 18 miles southeast of Philadelphia, is a public research institution founded in 1923. Initially established as a teacher preparation college, Rowan has since expanded its academic offerings across numerous disciplines, with notable programs in engineering, business, education, and performing arts. The campus is characterized by contemporary architecture, with facilities that support a range of educational activities, including a state-of-the-art engineering hall and a business hall with modern trading floor simulation rooms. The university provides on-campus housing options for its student body, which promotes a residential learning experience. While the institution has an inclusive admissions policy, the selectivity varies by program. Rowan's athletics teams, known as the Profs, participate in Division III sports, though the university is not predominantly recognized for its athletic programs.
