New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a public research university located in Newark, New Jersey, within close proximity to New York City. Founded in 1881, NJIT offers a diverse range of programs with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines, and it is known for academic programs such as engineering, architecture, and computer sciences. The urban campus spans 45 acres and features modernist architecture, housing over 11,000 students who can choose from more than 125 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
