Mississippi Valley State University, located in the rural town of Itta Bena in the Mississippi Delta region, is a public historically Black university established in 1950. The 450-acre campus features modern academic buildings and residential facilities, with most students living in on-campus housing. As one of Mississippi's eight public universities, MVSU offers undergraduate and graduate programs with particular emphasis in teacher education, criminal justice, and business administration.
