The University of Minnesota-Rochester (UMR) is a public educational institution situated in Rochester, Minnesota, an urban setting approximately 85 miles southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Founded in 2006, UMR specializes in health sciences and biosciences and provides a focused academic environment for its students. Notably, the university is adjacent to the Mayo Clinic, allowing for a strong emphasis on experiential learning and research opportunities in the medical and health fields.
