Benedictine College, located in Atchison, Kansas, is a private liberal arts institution established in 1971 through the merger of St. Benedict's College (founded in 1858) and Mount St. Scholastica College (founded in 1923). Situated approximately 50 miles northwest of Kansas City, the college's 120-acre campus boasts a picturesque setting atop bluffs overlooking the Missouri River, with Benedictine and Gothic architecture prominently featured. The college offers a strongly student-centered environment, characterized by a comprehensive liberal arts education with a specific emphasis on the Catholic intellectual tradition. Benedictine College is broadly selective in its admissions process. Residential life is an integral component of the Benedictine experience, with a commitment to on-campus housing for a significant portion of its undergraduate population. Popular majors among its diverse academic offerings include Business, Education, and Engineering.
