Savannah State University, chartered in 1890 and located in Savannah, Georgia, stands as the oldest public historically black university in the state. The campus sprawls across a picturesque 201-acre tract near the city's eastern boundary, within a brief drive to the historic downtown area and a short distance from the Atlantic coastline. Its lush setting includes a mix of contemporary and historic buildings that reflect a rich heritage. Savannah State offers a range of bachelor's and master's degree programs, with noteworthy emphasis on STEM disciplines, business, and liberal arts.
