Quinnipiac University, established in 1929, is a private institution situated in Hamden, Connecticut, nestled in the foothills of the Sleeping Giant State Park, which provides a picturesque backdrop for the university's distinctly New England campus architecture. Approximately eight miles north of New Haven, Quinnipiac is composed of three campuses?Mount Carmel, York Hill, and North Haven?that together offer a variety of professional and liberal arts programs. The university is known for its nationally recognized programs in business, communications, health sciences, nursing, and law. Quinnipiac offers residential housing options across its campuses, striving to accommodate the majority of its undergraduate student population on campus. While Quinnipiac maintains a selective admissions process, it draws a diverse pool of applicants. The university does not have a heavy athletic focus, but it participates in NCAA Division I athletics as the Quinnipiac Bobcats, with ice hockey being a notable sport for which it has received recognition.
