What is an A- letter grade?

An A- is the third highest grade on the U.S. high school and college grading scale ranging from A+ to F. A letter A- means excellent performance in a class. The '-' further refines the student's work as slightly lower than an A but better than a B+. An A- is a worse grade than an A.

What is an A- grade in percentage?

The percent value for an A- is 90-92. This means that the student answered 90-92 percent of the questions correctly on tests or earned 90-92 percent of points on assignments. The A letter grade range (A+/A/A-) extends from 100% to 90%, so an A- is at the lower end of the A scale.

What is an A- GPA?

The GPA scale value for an A- is a 3.7 grade average. 3.7 grade points are assigned to classes when calculating GPA's using the unweighted 4.0 scale. Any GPA higher than 3.7 and lower than 4.0 is considered an A- average.
