Bethany College, established in 1840 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), is a private liberal arts college located in the small, historic town of Bethany, West Virginia. Situated in the Northern Panhandle, the college is approximately an hour drive from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The campus features Gothic Revival architecture and offers a range of undergraduate degrees with a liberal arts focus. Known for its Communication and Media Arts program, Bethany College provides a selection of majors, with education and science programs being among the student favorites. The institution has a moderately selective admissions process. Residential life is an integral part of the Bethany experience, with the majority of students living on campus in dormitories and Greek housing. While the college supports a variety of athletic programs, it does not specifically garner national attention for sports achievements.
