Situated in a residential area of north Spokane, Washington, Whitworth University operates on a 200-acre campus marked by distinctive brick buildings and pine trees. Founded in 1890 as Whitworth College by Presbyterian minister George Whitworth, the institution gained university status in 2007 while maintaining its affiliation with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The private liberal arts university offers undergraduate programs across more than 100 areas of study, with notable strengths in business, education, and health sciences, while also providing select graduate programs. Whitworth maintains a selective admissions process and requires students to live on campus for their first two years, housing them in traditional residence halls or themed living communities.
