Alumnus
Overall a great experience! The University of Texas at Arlington is the largest Texas university by enrollment in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area (DFW Metroplex) and the fourth in Texas after UT, TAMU, and UH. UTA has a great reputation and name recognition, and it is only getting better. Students are friendly and constantly trying to excel academically and acquire even more knowledge. Classes are challenging. Professors are very knowledgeable and besides teaching, they are also doing research or working for major institutions and corporations as experts in their fields. The campus keeps expanding year after year. Within a short driving distance, you can find fun and interesting things to do throughout the DFW Metroplex. UTA alumni live in all major cities in the United States and everywhere in Texas in strong numbers, so that may help you with getting hired or business opportunities. It is definitely one of the most diverse schools in the country with international students from every continent in the world. UT Arlington offers several on-campus housing options and there are many more apartments to choose from in Arlington and throughout the Metroplex. The Maverick Activities Center is a great place to work out and stay in great shape. There are many restaurants and coffee shops on-campus or within walking distance. Arlington is the Entertainment Capital of Texas and is located between Dallas and Fort Worth just south of the DFW International Airport.
