Located in the rural northwest region of Tennessee, The University of Tennessee Martin (UT Martin) serves as a primary campus within the University of Tennessee system. The 250-acre main campus features a mix of modern and traditional collegiate architecture, surrounded by the university's additional 680 acres of agricultural demonstration land. Initially established in 1927 as a junior college, UT Martin evolved into a four-year undergraduate institution and now offers comprehensive academic programs with particular strengths in agriculture, business, education, and engineering. The university maintains a selective admission process and predominantly serves students from Tennessee and neighboring states. Most undergraduate students live in campus housing during their first year, and the Skyhawks compete in NCAA Division I athletics as members of the Ohio Valley Conference.
