Rhodes College, established in 1848 and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1925, is a private liberal arts college historically affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The institution is situated on a 123-acre wooded campus featuring Gothic Revival architecture, prominently the stone-clad Halliburton Tower. Notably residential, Rhodes offers campus housing options for its undergraduate population. Academically, it provides a broad range of majors, with particular strength in the biological sciences and international studies. The college maintains a highly selective admissions process. Rhodes is recognized for its emphasis on undergraduate research and service learning. Although not predominantly known for athletics, Rhodes competes in NCAA Division III as the Lynx, fielding various varsity teams.

In the most recent statistical year 5,253 prospective students applied, and 2,832 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 477 enrolled in the school.  1,955 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 53 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $52,000 plus fees of $310.
