Florence Darlington Technical College

Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) serves the Pee Dee region of South Carolina from its main campus in Florence, approximately 80 miles east of Columbia and 70 miles west of Myrtle Beach. The suburban main campus encompasses multiple academic buildings and technical training facilities, with additional satellite locations in Hartsville, Lake City, and Mullins. Established in 1963 as a technical education center, FDTC offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates with focused programs in technical, health sciences, and business fields. The college maintains partnerships with local industries and provides specialized workforce training programs, particularly in manufacturing technology, nursing, and automotive technology. Students primarily commute to campus, as the institution does not provide on-campus housing.

Florence Darlington Technical College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
