La Roche University, located in the North Hills suburb of McCandless Township nine miles from downtown Pittsburgh, operates on a 156-acre campus characterized by modern academic buildings and residential facilities. Originally established in 1963 by the Sisters of Divine Providence as a private Catholic institution for religious women, La Roche now serves a diverse student population while maintaining its Catholic heritage.
