PennWest Clarion, located in the rural town of Clarion in western Pennsylvania approximately 75 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, is one of three campuses comprising Pennsylvania Western University following a 2022 merger of state institutions. Originally founded in 1867 as Carrier Seminary, the institution evolved into a teachers' college before expanding into a comprehensive public university offering programs across business, education, health sciences, and arts and sciences.
