Alvernia University, established in 1958 by the Bernardine Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, is a private university located in Reading, Pennsylvania, within a short drive to Philadelphia. The university's 121-acre campus is noted for its modern facilities juxtaposed with a serene, wooded backdrop, facilitating both rigorous academic pursuits and reflective, peaceful study environments. Alvernia offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and adult education programs, with a particular emphasis on healthcare, business, and education majors. Housing options include traditional dorms, suite-style accommodations, and townhouses for upperclassmen, promoting on-campus living for a diverse student body.
