Oral Roberts University, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a private evangelical Christian institution established in 1963 by televangelist Oral Roberts. The 263-acre campus features distinctive modernist architecture, including the Prayer Tower and Christ's Chapel, with its angular gold-tinted windows becoming architectural landmarks in south Tulsa. The university maintains a comprehensive academic program with emphasis in business, theology, nursing, and engineering, while requiring all students to complete both religious and physical education components as part of its "whole person" educational philosophy. Students are required to live on campus for their first three years, housed in gender-specific dormitories, and the university competes in NCAA Division I athletics as the Golden Eagles, primarily in the Summit League.
