I like the school overall, the professors are nice people but housing does suck at least the freshman housing, and the campus life is dead, and food is pretty mid, but if you get a good group of friends the experience will be good.

I was an international student at Calvin for 4 years and it was an excellent experience overall. I majored in psychology with a neuroscience concentration and I am currently studying for a masters degree in neuroscience at King's College London. During my time at Calvin, I really felt welcomed there and the community is amazing. The professors and faculty are very knowledgeable in their field of study and have also been kind, supportive, and helpful. Living on campus was a nice experience overall and the campus is very safe with great facilities (I really miss the gym and the nature reserve). There is a lot of recourses available to support students in mental and physical health, as well as academic tutoring, coaching, and help sessions. My time at Calvin has really helped me gain confidence in myself and helped prepare me for future endeavors. I have also formed many lasting friendships. I would recommend Calvin to anyone who is looking for a school with a friendly atmosphere, academic rigor, and a community where you are treated as not just a number on a page, but as an individual person. My younger brother now goes there and he has been enjoying his time there as well :)

Cant say enough great things about App, from the wonderful education to the great campus life clubs and activities, to the nice dorms, to the town of Boone and tons to do in the mountain area, to the football games and tailgates, to the great sense of community here, to the easy drive to Charlotte back home to see family.
