The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), founded in 1855 and located in Ewing, New Jersey, provides a comprehensive education through its seven schools, with a strong emphasis on undergraduate studies in the liberal arts, business, and education. Known for its Georgian colonial-style campus architecture, TCNJ offers a suburban setting just outside the state capital of Trenton and is within an hour's drive of both New York City and Philadelphia, affording students ample cultural and professional opportunities. The institution boasts a moderately selective admissions process, emphasizing a student's academic achievements and potential. Pertinent academic programs at TCNJ include its well-regarded engineering school and notably strong emphasis on education majors. TCNJ provides on-campus housing options designed to accommodate a majority of its student body, fostering a residential campus environment. While the college participates in NCAA Division III athletics, it is particularly known for its competitive programs in fields such as business, engineering, and education rather than its sports teams.

In the most recent statistical year 10,302 prospective students applied, and 6,638 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,583 enrolled in the school.  7,086 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 543 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $14,140 plus fees of $3,838. TCNJ is ranked 175 nationally in the CollegeSimply.com 2024 U.S. Colleges Ranking.
