Rider University sits on a 280-acre suburban campus in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, approximately one hour from both Philadelphia and New York City. Originally established in 1865 as a business college in Trenton, the institution relocated to its current location in 1959 and has evolved into a comprehensive university. The campus features a mix of modern and traditional buildings, including a second campus in Princeton that houses the Westminster Choir College, known for its prestigious music programs. Rider maintains a moderate level of selectivity in admissions and offers undergraduate and graduate programs across its colleges of business, liberal arts, education, and fine and performing arts. The university provides traditional dormitory and suite-style housing options for students, and its NCAA Division I athletic teams compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
