Drew University is a private liberal arts institution established in 1867 and is situated in Madison, New Jersey, approximately 30 miles west of New York City. The 186-acre campus is known for its forested landscape and Gothic architecture. Offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, including those in the arts, sciences, and humanities, Drew is also recognized for its theatre arts and political science majors. The college operates on a semester-based academic calendar and has a moderately selective admissions process. Residential life is a notable feature at Drew, as the university offers on-campus living options which accommodate a significant portion of the student body. While Drew does not have a large focus on athletics, it offers various sports programs and its teams are known as the Rangers.
