Salish Kootenai College (SKC) is a tribal higher education institution located in Pablo, Montana, on the Flathead Reservation. Founded in 1977, it serves primarily Native American students as a member of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium but is open to students of all ethnicities. Emphasizing a curricular blend of indigenous knowledge and modern workforce requirements, SKC provides associate, bachelor's, and certificate programs with notable programs in natural resource management, nursing, and information technology. The college welcomes students with its open admissions policy and is well-regarded for its contribution to preserving Native American cultures and languages. The campus features modest architecture reflective of its natural surroundings, and on-campus housing is available for students desiring to engage with the college community. While SKC is not widely recognized for its athletic programs, it offers a variety of student-centered activities and educational experiences on its serene and culturally rich campus.
