Holmes Community College

Holmes Community College's main campus is situated in the rural town of Goodman, Mississippi, approximately 60 miles north of Jackson. The public two-year institution operates additional campuses in Ridgeland and Grenada, serving a nine-county district in central Mississippi. Established in 1925 as Holmes County Agricultural High School, the college has evolved to offer comprehensive academic and career-technical programs, with notable strengths in healthcare, business administration, and industrial trades. The main campus features traditional classroom buildings and residence halls where students can live on campus, while athletic programs compete in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference, particularly in baseball and basketball.

Holmes Community College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
