Hinds Community College

Hinds Community College, located in Raymond, Mississippi, approximately 20 miles southwest of Jackson, serves as the largest community college in the state. The main campus occupies a rural setting with additional instructional locations in Jackson, Pearl, Rankin County, Utica, and Vicksburg. Established in 1917 as an agricultural high school, the institution evolved into a junior college in 1922 and now offers more than 70 career and technical programs alongside traditional academic transfer pathways. The college maintains a comprehensive range of technical and career programs, with notable strengths in allied health, aviation, and skilled trades, while providing on-campus housing options at its Raymond and Utica campuses. Hinds fields athletic teams known as the Eagles in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference, competing in sports including football, basketball, and baseball.

Hinds Community College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
