White Earth Tribal and Community College

Overview

White Earth Tribal and Community College (WETCC) is a two-year tribal land-grant community college located in Mahnomen, Minnesota. As an institution established to serve the White Earth Reservation and surrounding communities, WETCC offers education rooted in the Anishinaabe culture, emphasizing the Ojibwe language and traditions. Founded in 1997, the college provides a variety of associate degree programs, certificate programs, and continuing education opportunities with a focus on natural resource management, early childhood education, and human services. While White Earth Tribal and Community College maintains an open admissions policy, indicative of a generally inclusive selection process for applicants, it does not offer on-campus housing. The college is situated approximately 65 miles from the nearest urban center, Fargo, North Dakota. WETCC does not have an emphasis on athletics; instead, the institution prioritizes strengthening academic and cultural knowledge within its student body.

White Earth Tribal and Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  47 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 55 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $4,080 plus fees of $1,170.
