Gustavus Adolphus College, located in Saint Peter, Minnesota, approximately 60 miles southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul, is a private liberal arts institution founded in 1862 by Swedish Lutheran immigrants. The 340-acre hillside campus features predominantly Lutheran and Swedish-influenced architecture, including the landmark Christ Chapel at its center. As a selective liberal arts college, Gustavus offers 73 majors across traditional liberal arts disciplines, with notable strengths in the natural sciences, music, and pre-professional programs, particularly pre-medicine. Nearly all students live on campus in residential halls or campus-owned housing, and the college competes in NCAA Division III athletics as the Golden Gusties, maintaining strong programs in tennis and swimming.
