EMU will offer you no quarter, many instructors are adversarial and passive aggressive. The administration supports faculty only, you will be chewed up and spit out. Avoid

This is what I like to call a "No-frills" university. The social scene is meh and the nearby bar choices are limited, but if you are going to EMU then that isn't your main priority anyway. The school does a lot with a little. The campus is smaller than most but still very pleasant to walk around and easy to navigate. The class sizes are small and the equipment is not bleeding edge by any means but the faculty are some of the most knowledgeable people in their respected fields. Out of all the public schools in Michigan, I felt that EMU gave the most bang for the buck as tuition was far lower than other schools while the education provided was still top quality.

Overall great school-- great classes and professors, new developing programs (such as the Fermentation Science program, which is my degree program), great social environment, typically small class size (the largest class I've had was 85 students and was a 100-level general education required course), and a cozy campus where you can get pretty much anywhere you need in about 15 minutes. I love it here!

It has a very comfortable atmosphere. A big campus, but not so big you feel lost. The class sizes aren't enormous either. And everyone is super friendly! An overall great school!!
