Washington College, established in 1782 and located in the historic town of Chestertown, Maryland, is a private liberal arts college recognized for its rich colonial heritage and close proximity to the Chesapeake Bay, about 70 miles east of Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The college campus is noted for its traditional Georgian architecture and offers a predominantly residential undergraduate experience. With a broad liberal arts and sciences curriculum, the institution is known for its writing program, environmental studies on the Chester River, and a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary education. The application process at Washington College is moderately selective, catering to a diverse student body interested in a personalized academic journey.
