Northern Maine Community College (NMCC) is located in Presque Isle, the commercial center of Aroostook County, approximately 320 miles north of Portland, Maine. The campus occupies 87 acres in a rural setting and consists of modern classroom buildings, technical facilities, and residential halls for on-campus student housing. Established in 1961 as Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, NMCC now offers career-focused associate degrees and certificate programs, with particular emphasis on nursing, trade and technical programs, and business technology. The college maintains strong connections with local industries and provides hands-on training facilities, including specialized labs for wind power technology, diesel hydraulics, and precision metals manufacturing.
